MARCH 27 2020
In line with the latest government recommendations, we are closing the gardens with immediate effect.
We will re-open as soon as social distancing and quarantine restrictions are rescinded.
Best wishes to everyone.

Fabulous early spring colour after the recent storms (photos by Anthony Brooks).
We are enjoying several bulb flowers at the moment:
Iris reticulata, daffodils, Winter Aconites, snowdrops and crocuses. Rhododendron Christmas Cheer is still going strong, as well as the Hellebores. We are open every day.
Meanwhile, we are doing some of those ‘hidden’ jobs that are important: coppicing hazels for plant supports, cutting back the Norfolk Reeds and cleaning/oiling the garden benches scattered throughout the garden.
Hoping you’ve not suffered too badly in the recent stormy weather.
We’ve lost a few shrubs but, luckily, nothing worse.
